3 perfect wedding cake styles for your Holmewood Hall wedding

So after overcoming the ecstasy of getting engaged, you have picked the stunning venue of Holmewood Hall for your wedding. And now it's time to think about how everything else will fit in nicely with the setting on your wedding day. You may also have a Pinterest board set up for the dress, the colour scheme, decorations etc.. Looking through your mood board and the style of your venue could be the perfect place to start deliberating on your Holmewood Hall wedding cake design.

To give you some help in what to consider for a Holmewood Hall wedding cake I created this blog to show you a few wedding cake styles that I made first hand for this beautiful wedding venue before.

1. A rustic style Holmewood Hall wedding cake

For her wedding, Rachel, the bride requested something very elegant and minimalistic. Also the design had to include fresh flowers to tie in with the table decor and the wedding bouquet.

So Rachel picked a rustic style wedding cake design. I thought it was perfect as the off white colours of the buttercream really stand out in the dark brown staircase at Holmewood Hall. We agreed on a grooved effect buttercream finish. The contrasting colours of the dark staircase and the light cake just accentuated those immaculate grooves of the cake design.

Decorated with natural coloured roses and pastel greenery, this rustic style Holmewood Hall wedding cake really was the perfect centre piece of the room.

2. Holmewood Hall wedding cake in the autumn

Chloe and Martin are a laid back couple who just wanted something to match their ivory and burnt orange wedding colour scheme. They also wanted something that represents their love, them as a couple. As they're both nature lovers too, they chose hedgehogs as cake toppers from one of my previous cakes. They wanted them dressed as bride and groom, of course. Chloe and Martin's buttercream finished Homewood hall wedding cake was decorated with edible wafer paper autumn leaves. What is edible wafer paper? Click here to find out. Whilst the nature inspired toppers and the leaves represent the couples personalities, the cake beautifully fit in with the style of the venue. The shades of orange and brown tones of the autumn leaves perfectly pair with the background of the wooden staircase at Holmewood Hall.

3. A Holmewood Hall wedding cake with straight lines and angles

Jodi and Joshua's Holmewood Hall wedding cake was a very good example when the interior design of the venue is taken into consideration for the cake style. Straight lines and angles. This is what defines the staircase at Holmewood Hall. This is where your wedding cake is displayed for most part of the wedding day and where the cake cutting happens in the evening.

Jodi and Joshua opted for white square cakes and lots of angles. The white cake perfectly stands out in the dark staircase while the red sugar roses tie in with the warm colours of the background. They even had a personalised wooden cake stand made, that was of course angular too. This extra touch further emphasised those lines and angles and gave more height to the cake.

I hope my blog helps you see how taking your wedding venue into account is important in the design of a wedding cake.

Together with colours, flowers, dress and other creative elements, designing a Holmewood Hall wedding cake or any other wedding cake for that matter, that suits your venue really is the icing on the cake. Excuse me for the pun :)
